Kirouac’s Campaign Bares It All

Jace Kirouac, a delegate from The American Legion Buckeye Boys State, began a very ambitious campaign on Sunday for his Senatorial run in the City of Chapman with a rather direct yet comprehensive campaign poster. The campaign proved to be incredibly effective, as it won the race for Kirouac.

Kirouac, a member of the Nationalist Party, feels very strongly about his platform, and it’s especially noticeable through his poster hanging on the wall on the first floor of Withrow Hall. While many posters feature mere self endorsements of candidates, or even the occasional pun, Kirouac sets himself apart from the crowd by concisely telling his public what exactly he stands for.

The poster in question, proudly and explicitly states: “Whack Taxes! Whack fraud! Whack the competition!”

When questioned about his thought process behind his distinguishable poster, Kirouac said, “Everyone has a memorable thing: their name, a pun, something that goes with it. But why would you even bother remembering if you don’t know what they would stand for? Why would I vote for this person if I don’t know any of their goals?”

Kirouac passionately believes in a transparent relationship between candidates for leadership positions and the individuals he wishes to serve. He explained his reasoning when he was asked about the true motive behind his campaign: “I’m going to put what I stand for, what I believe, and if they don’t support me, well, that’s their consensus. … And I am all open ears, as my big thing is I want to speak for our city.”

During the interview, Kirouac graciously elaborated upon his campaign platform as already present on his poster. In regards to “Whack taxes!,” he explained his thoughts, endorsing graduated income tax: “Let’s make sure that people that are working hard in the working class don’t have to pay as much as the people that are wealthy, making more.”
In terms of “Whack fraud!” Kirouac explained his thoughts on a zero tolerance policy and fraud’s danger to our democratic republic: “[Fraud]’s not acceptable anywhere and definitely not in politics, where we should be a republic and a democracy.”

Finally, in response to “Whack the competition!” Kirouac, as a Nationalist, states that he wishes to unite both political parties in order work with the Federalists for a common good.

“I’m sure when we talk about the two conventions we had, that were actually going to be similar in a lot of ways, because I’ve talked with people over there, they have the same ideas that I have,” Kirouac said.

Kirouac’s senatorial campaign has proven itself strong, putting his exact platform on full display for voters.
