The Bar Exam: How hard could it be?

At American Legion Buckeye Boys State (ALBBS) 2025, there has been discussion around the Miami University campus about the bar exam. This test is a hurdle in the path to attain a judicial position or become an officer of the courts in the ALBBS.

The Blue Book, the only resource given to participants in preparation for the exam, contains valuable information on the Ohio government useful for the topics covered.

According to Noah Seaburn of Stockner City, the test had 50 questions and took 2 attempts for him and many others to master. The passage of this exam determined if he would be able to attain his desired position as attorney general.

“It helps to do it once to see what it’s like,” Seaburn said.

“It helps to do it once to see what it’s like,” Seaburn said.

Another delegate, Alex Bowman of Favreau City, insisted it was “very hard,” especially because some people had the digital edition of the Blue Book instead of the physical, which he viewed as a slight advantage.

Overall, the ALBBS delegate body looks at this exam with rigor. But among all the law-related delegates, there is one rumored to have gotten a perfect score on the test. Delegates were shocked when they heard about him and his accomplishments.

Christian Lee of Jordan City grew up around the courts as his dad worked in law. Having achieved a 35 on the ACT test upon first completion and following it with a 36, Lee said the bar exam came naturally.

He said the Blue Book was a great resource that he already knew the contents of. With light usage of the book and his history in law, he finished the exam in 35 minutes.

He said the one thing he wanted his fellow delegates to hear was, “Let Lee lead with reason and authority!”

Regardless of the outcome, many delegates put hours into studying for the exam. Diligence was put on display by the participants as they faced the challenges of the high passing threshold.

The headline for this story has been updated to remove a reference to Lee receiving a perfect score on the Bar Exam. Lee had received a perfect score on the ACT exam, which is 36.
