Nationalist Party members of Koppin County held a private meeting in the late morning on Monday to decide what the party’s strategies and goals would be. By doing so, they would start to shape the coming government at American Legion Buckeye Boys State through determining what the party would stand for and represent in the elections.
Cooper Robertson of Ridenour City was the member to take charge at the event, from describing his hopes for the party to his goals if elected into office. Robertson focused on issues such as mental health and substance abuse. He proclaimed the need for more resources and support concerning the topic, while listing examples and reasons for why such measures must be taken.
Middle ground issues were another topic heavily discussed as a priority for the party, as they wished to solve any threat to the public as thoroughly and efficiently as possible.

Robertson also stressed on the importance of his party to “take control” of the forming of government. As he stressed how legislation would flow more readily if the elected officials had a cause that bonded them, like the party lines. As Robertson debated this, he and the other party members there worked to create promotional material that would come to support their independent and shared stances.
Chris Stienglass of Pennell City stated that private meetings and gatherings like this “helped the nationalist party” in the elections, as Stienglass would comment that it allowed members “of our county and our party of all those meetings that we went to… [discover who was the best] at public speaking.” This in turn would help form the party leaders, and thus their voice in the elections.
The private meeting that occurred provided a preview for the priorities and values of the party. The Koppin County’s Nationalist Party would set in motion the start of specific views, values, and goals that would shape the Nationalist Party.
