Calling all boys of American Legion Buckeye Boys State (ALBBS), the American Red Cross wants delegates for the blood drive here on campus. The American Red Cross is a non-profit organization that helps with natural disasters, emergency assistance, and health.

Delegates may ask themselves why they would want to donate blood. There will be incentives and rewards for donating. Anyone who donates will receive a ticket to Kings Island or Cedar Point as well as an e-gift card of $15. The other incentive is the city that has the most people to donate blood will receive a pizza party.

To sign up for the blood drive delegates can contact a member of the Department of Health, which is on the second floor of Dorsey Hall, to schedule an appointment. The drive will be Saturday, June 14th, 2025, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Marcum Hotel and Conference Center, in Room 150. Delegates will need to bring a form of identification.

Full requirements to donate are that individuals must be 17 or older, weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health. Sixteen year olds can donate with their parents’ permission.

The blood drive is for all 2025 ALBBS participants, parents, and guests. The organizers encourage people interested to remember to get a good night’s sleep, eat a good breakfast the morning of the drive, drink plenty of fluids, and relax.
