Jack Meyer of Zulch City was a candidate for the governor position at the 87th Session of the American Legion Buckeye Boys State (ALBBS). Meyer believed that he was a strong candidate for the governor position.

Meyer described the traits he aspired to have as governor, saying, “A leader who knows when to lead and when to be led.”

Meyer had three main priorities that he wanted to accomplish as governor of ALBBS. First, Meyer planned to implement an autobahn. Meyer was determined to ensure that travel times are quicker and easier for everyone, so they can get where they need to be.

He also planned to unite both the Federalist and Nationalist platforms, believing to achieve this goal he must listen to both platforms equally and fairly. Meyer planned to help everyone at ALBBS to achieve their own personal goals.

Additionally, Meyer wanted to ensure transparency in his administration. He planned to do this by answering any and all questions, from both parties, equally and honestly. He also expected everyone to keep him in check if he was elected. Meyer was determined to make everybody equal, no matter what their job or political platform is.

However, oftentimes not all delegates win their elections and they have to find another job.

“I am currently working with the airports and helipad systems right now.” Meyer said.

He now has a job as the Director of Public Safety – although he did not get his original governor job, he’s still working hard to make his goals of travel faster.

“My job is to make sure everyone in public safety is doing their job,” Meyer stated as his main priority as the Director of Public Safety.

“My job is to make sure everyone in public safety is doing their job,” Meyer stated as his main priority as the Director of Public Safety.

Public safety is essential to delegates at ALBBS, but especially the management of transportation and traffic. For example, the highway patrol enforces speed limits and makes sure delegates are licensed.

Meyer also has to take over any jobs or problems that occur in public safety and fills in any position for someone who cannot make a meeting that they have.

“I tried and failed again, and again, but I still kept going.” he continued.

Meyer still plans to be as impactful and determined as he was when he was running for the governor position for the rest of the week at ALBBS. Meyer is now working to make the most of the program and learn from some of the decisions that may have impacted the election.
